Basic sewing: Make your own tote bag
May 2nd. $40 class fee. 6-8pm
Description: Please bring 2 yards of your favorite fabric and matching thread. If you have a sewing machine, please bring your own. Otherwise, students will be sharing machines. You will be creating your own beginner tote that you can, of course, take home with you!
Class instructor: Karin from Valhalla. You have probably seen her gorgeous leather handbags and wallets.

Intro to Screen Printing
Wednesday April 30th, May 7th, 14th and 21st. 6-8pm
This is a 4 week class. $75 per session: $300 for the course. 3 spots left!
Description: in this course students will be introduced to both the technical and creative processes of screenprinting custom images onto garments. each student will receive a high grade aluminum framed screen and will learn simple ways to make professional quality prints at home. students should be prepared to submit their own designs (or at least have an idea of what they want to print) for the first class. students may supply their own garments or order from teacher at cost.
Class instructor: Jake from Project Transaction. He makes screen printed shirts for men and women, as well as screened cuffs.

Book Making: Artist Books
Sunday May 4th, 3-5pm, $45
This will be a thrilling intensive combo of book-binding/artist books! I will show atleast 2 possible binding techniques and then we will turn you inside out to create an artists book. Bring your inspired ideas, scraps and saved bits of ephemera (saved papers, clippings, photos, magazines, letters, school work, small found objects, whatever you want to memorialize!)
Teacher: Nancy Hart, artist extraordinare. Fluent in painting, book binding, collage, photography, and more! She recently launched chalkhome.com

Knitting 101
Saturday May 10th 1-3pm $75
Do you admire yarns and fibers and have always wanted to know how to knit? Learn how to Cast on. Cast off. Knit and Purl. And sew a simple knit seam in this class for Beginners. We will teach you the foundations on how to make simple projects like scarves, blankets, pillowcases, headbands and legwarmers! There will be knitting needles and yarn available to use, but feel free to bring your own ball of yarn/needles if you wish to knit with your own.
Instructor: Sonia Tay is a working artist and fashion designer that currently runs her concept label Snoozer Loser NY. She has also taught the Beginner and Advanced Hand-Knitting Program at Parsons School of Design and gives private knitting and crochet lessons.

Amigurumi Workshop
June 8th, 1-3pm. $50
Description: Amigurumi is the popular Japanese craft of crocheting or knitting cute stuffed toys. Minimal crochet skills are needed for the class (single crochet, increase and decrease only). Materials included in cost of class.
Class instructor: Christina Kara, an avid crafter and crochet instructor at Brookline Adult & Community Education.

Jewelry making with wire and bead techniques (Do the Cha-Cha)
May 18th, 3-5pm. $60 ($35 if you have your own supplies)
Introduction with a hands on lesson in the fundamentals of jewelry making with wire. The class will cover instruction in the tools, wire and beads. You'll have time to practice wraps, links and loops by making a beaded cha-cha bracelet and matching earrings. Required tools and materials included in materials fee.
